Paula Dorf Aztec City Eyeshadow Palette Review & Makeup look
Now look at this gorgeous eye palette! Aren´t the colors just so perfect and beautiful? I just reviewed the Paula Dorf Eyebrow set (read my review here) and was very happy to receive another beautiful product from Paula Dorf.
Paula Dorf is cruelty free!
"About the product: From the desert sand to the crisp blue sky this Aztec City Palette has it all! With just the right balance of professional and flirty, this palette lets you decide between knockout nudes, classy colors, or a mesmerizing mix of both. These five shades allow you to customize your look and transform your mindset to the bronzed beauty of the desert. The sleek mirrored case also contains a specially designed double-ended brush for the perfect application."
The packaging is wonderful sleek and elegant! I was so excited about this palette that I dropped it right away on my tiles- thank God only one color broke off a little (the dark brown on the right)!
To the colors: wow- these are so soft and silky! You need to feel this with your fingers (and no- I don´t apply eyeshadow with my fingers but for the purpose of swatching them I touched them). I don´t think I have ever touched such smooth and silky feeling eyeshadows!
The light color on the left is actually a wonderful soft white with golden undertones- super lovely! The blue is a gorgeous- very unique combination of a light teal with wonderful golden undertones- I have never seen such a lovely blue color!
In the middle is a light old rose tone that has a bit glitter in it- this one is the only one that has somewhat of a fall out- but not really serious- I just noted some tiny glitter pieces below my eyes after using this shade.
Then comes a perfect light brown matte color to blend, followed by the best dark mocha color - a perfect color to put into the crease.
All colors are super easy to blend and very, very smooth and hold all day. The quality is truly outstanding.
Also really worth mentioning: the brush inside of this palette is just wonderful! This is not one of those throw away brushes- super soft bristles- I love to use this! The other side has an angled brush which is very nice to line the lower lash line or even to work in that "outer V".
I also got to try out the Paula Dorf Teal Mascara- a perfect add on if you use the blue shade of this palette as it complements it very much.
I tried the Mascara a couple of times but found that the wand does not really separate my lashes very good and here is how I like to use it: either I apply it only on my lower lashes to give some pop of color- or I use first a regular black mascara and use the teal mascara only on the ends of my lashes- this gives a nice subtle yet stunning teal effect. It makes my blue eyes pop but without looking like a blue mascara from the 80s if you know what I mean? ;-)
Since I got this beautiful palette I am reaching for it everyday. Every morning I open my make up drawer to decide for which palette I should go- but this one beats them all out. So gorgeous and so easy to work with! A+ for this beautiful palette!
