MAC LIPTENSITY LIPSTICK REVIEW & SWATCHES
I tried 3 of the Mac Liptensity lipsticks- 2 brand new colors (Salmon King & Brick Dust) and 1 old color (Smoked Almond). I hear so many rave reviews about Mac and I was so curious to try something. Especially the lipsticks seem to be a favorite of everyone! This is literally the first time I have tried ANYTHING by Mac (except, I remember I had one time a mascara sample that I did not like lol). So, how good were these lipsticks in my opinion?
I picked the Liptensity lipsticks, because I am not a fan of the regular black lipstick tubes. It must be such a hassle to find the right color? These however make it so easy, as the tube already shows you exactly which color you get. I love that! And the tubes feel heavy and substantial - however for my personal taste the packaging lacks some elegance! ;-)
I also find that the shape of the lipstick itself is not the easiest to work with. I prefer the "old-fashioned" cut off shape- something that makes it easy to line the lips. Also: doesn´t the tip remind you also on a Wet n Wild lippie? LOL!
Here is Brick Dust! This is a medium dark brown, very 90s feeling lippie. Super creamy, shiny and moisturizing and lasts pretty long on my lips! Think what you want, but I always will have a brown lippie in my drawer. I guess, I am after all still a 90s girl (and by that I don´t mean that I am born in the 90s LOL!)
Here is King Salmon, a creamy peachy salmon pink! I love this color! Adds just the right amount of color that pops. And it screams Spring! (even in Fall lol). This color is semi-matte I would say. Not in a way that it makes lip wrinkles look worse, but it is definitely not a really shiny color like Brick Dust above.
And here is Smoked Almond, a light brown color with peachy under-tones. Very smooth and easy to apply and feels moisturizing and comfortable on my lips. A really easy to wear nude!
I am really happy with the colors I chose and I really like them all. Will these change my life? Probably not! ;-)
The Mac Liptensity lipsticks retail for $21 a pop (you can get them at Mac, Ulta, Nordstrom, Selfridges).
I really wonder how they compare to the regular lippies by Mac since those cost only $17.50? Can somebody explain? ;-)
