ELF EYE PENCIL VS. ESTEE LAUDER EYE PENCIL- This or That?
So, today I´m gonna put 2 Eyeliner pencils to the test: the Estee Lauder Eyeliner pencil (Intense Kajal Eyeliner in Blackened Black) vs. the *Elf Eyeliner pencil (Brightening Eyeliner in Black).
Now you might think that it is not fair to compare elf with Estee Lauder, considering that the elf Eyeliner did cost me a $1 and the Estee Lauder Eyeliner retails for around $20 (I got mine from my Estee Lauder Blockbuster Holiday Set). But you might be surprised if you see the results.
I wanted to compare these two because I noticed right away that the consistence of both is pretty similar. They both are applying very smooth and buttery. They feel very soft and it makes it a snap to do your eyeliner.
I applied on one eye the elf Eyeliner and on the other eye the Estee Lauder Eyeliner.

You can notice already after a minute that both eyeliners smudge on my eyes. To put them to a real test I wore them for 4 hours straight and here are the results:
Elf Eyeliner pencil after 4 hours.
Estee Lauder Eyeliner pencil after 4 hours.
To be fair: I knew already that my elf Eyeliner pencil sucked and I am never wearing it. But when I realized that the Estee Lauder Eyeliner pencil reacted the same way I had the urgent need to put them to the test! The results are very clear: they both suck! While the elf probably smudged even worse- the Estee Lauder is still very bad.
But I still recommend buying the elf Eyeliner for another (funny) reason! You get a sharpener with it which works like a gem! LOL!
This test proofs for me again that neither the price, nor the brand of a beauty item really have to say anything! I bought a set of JLB cosmetics Eyeliner pencils at Ross for around $4 (yes all 5 together!) and they work so much better! They do not apply as buttery as the Estee Lauder and elf Eyeliner but this is exactly the reason whey they stay put better!
Note: I have very oily skin so your results might not be as bad as mine if your skin is dry!
I hope you find this also interesting and I wish you a great rest of your beautiful Sunday!
XOXO, Sissi
