MADLUVV wants Influencers to pay for shipping? What?!

A couple of weeks ago Madluvv contacted me on Instagram if I would like to partner with them. I said yes and they send me a $50 coupon code that I could use on their website. I thought the brow stamp looked interesting. It was $49 and so I added it to my cart, applied my coupon code and ta-da: to my surprise I still needed to pay for shipping (a little over $7). I emailed Madluvv that I would not pay for shipping, assuming that this must be a mistake.

I received no response. Ok, I thought. I don't care. In the trash the email goes.

A couple weeks later I received another email, asking why I still have not used my $50 credit.

I responded again, that I won't be paying for shipping.

And then I received this email that I actually thought was hilarious!!!

What did I think was so funny? This sentence:

"Unfortunately, we will have to open your affiliate spot to other creators who are on our waitlist for this exclusive program".

What bs! Like they have a WAITLIST for people desperately trying to get on that Affiliate list. LMAO! That is just such ridiculous nonsense y'all. Like they have only 10 spots available. Imagine Amazon saying: I am sorry, you can not become an Affiliate. We have only 500 spots available.

I am a content creator for 11 years now and I have NEVER EVER paid for shipping and I will never do so either.

Dear Influencers, if you are asked to pay for shipping, please say: No! I am not that desperate to try out the stupid brow stamp (BTW Makeup Revolution hast a brow stamp for only $12). I just got new brow products from benefit and Merit to try and I did not had to pay for shipping lmao. 😅

Now, you could say "Maybe this is a really small brand that can not afford the shipping cost". According to google Madluvvs yearly revenue is over 5 Mio. So there is that.

Another fishy thing Madluvv is only available on their website as subscription with auto renewal (either every 30 or 60 days) and according to reviews on Trustpilot many customers are not aware of that, thinking they buy it 1x and then they keep getting charged. If you force people to auto-subscribe to a product that is just really dumb. Obviously you have to try something first before you subscribe to it! This brand seems very desperate and scammy to me. Avoid.
